As the FIFA World Cup kicks of further, the favorites, Portugal and Germany will get to play their First Official World Cup Match.

Germany and Portugal are both ranked among the top five in the FIFA rankings, and both have the potential to make runs in the World Cup -- similar to the way both teams reached the semifinals in the 2012 European Championships.

Germany is a well ranked team whereas Portugal is hard to predict. With German stars like Marco Reus and Gomez out of the World Cup, Germany will have a tough year ahead. Also, Emanuel Neuer is suffering from a slight shoulder injury and Schweinsteiger was airlifted to the hospital on Saturday for a knee injury scan.

Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he will be playing in today's match which is definitely a huge boost for Portugal.

GK: Manuel Neuer
Arguably the best goalkeeper in the world right now, the Bayern Munich goalkeeper will have a large task of keeping Cristiano Ronaldo at bay. He could very well come through, though.

Another Bayern Munich player, Boateng is a very talented and versatile defender. Later in the tournament, he will be faced with the burden of facing his brother Kevin-Prince Boateng.

CB: Mats Hummels

10 things You Need to know about 2014 FIFA World Cup

The World Cup, possibly the most popular international sporting event, starts today in Brazil. The world is abuzz as many of soccer’s best players, representing 32 countries, seek to dethrone Spain, the reigning champion.
It's World Cup Time!

So, we have come up with 10 interesting facts about this year's WORLD CUP!

1. OFFICIAL MATCH BALL - BRAZUCA

Earlier when football matches were telecasted on black and white television, the ball manufacturers were forced to make the ball black and white. But now the advanced technology has gifted us with FIFA World CUp 2014's Official Match Ball - Brazuca!

Adidas has been developing the ball for over 2 years, and had worked with many teams and players to ensure the ball was acceptable. The ball has appeared in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, DFB-Pokal (German Cup) final as well as disguised as the Adidas Cafusa in international friendly matches.

2. A DEBUTANT NATION

Bosnia- Herzegovina did not exist as a country until 1992 when they declared their independence from the former Yugoslavia. A month after independence, a brutal, ethnic-cleansing, civil war erupted between Serbs, Croats, and Bosnian Muslims. The war devastated the nation, and even when truce was called in late 1995, the tormented country knew things would never be the same.

This time around, Brazil 2014 will witness just a single new nation at the finals, with Bosnia-Herzegovina ready to feature at their first major tournament.

They won the UEFA zone Group G to take their place in Brazil this year.

3. NEW JERSEYS AND SHOES

Nike has come up with a new Dri-Fit Technology to make the players feel comfortable. A combination of mesh panel and laser-cut ventilation will help the players to perform at their best.

It has been reported that the Italian team's jersey has a special tape which are called the massage strips; these will maximise the muscle power of these players and help them recover from exertion.

Also, the best (and maybe also the worst for some pessimists) part of this is that all these Nike World Cup Kits are made out of recycled plastic! Great isn't it?

4. GOAL LINE TECHNOLOGY

FIFA has been learning from their ghosts of the past and has finally introduced the Goal Line Technology.
It was first introduced in the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2012 and since then it has been all praise for the technology.
The main intention is to make correct decisions and also reduce the time in making such decisions.

5.VANISHING SPRAY

In addition to the Goal Line Technology, FIFA has also adopted the vanishing spray which the referees can use to mark the exact position of the wall/freekick ensuring the player does not move the ball further and making sure the wall stays atleast 10 yards away. Also the spray is eco-friendly and vanishes in minutes.

6. INJURED STARS

With the World Cup starting there are many star players injured which is a sad news for their fans.
Here is the list of the Injured players who will be missing the World Cup this year-
1. Marco Reus - Germany
2. Franck Ribery - France
3.Radamel Falcao - Colombia
4.Victor Valdes - Spain
Oops!

Also, Cristiano Ronaldo is slightly injured and couldn't play the practice match against Greece but has steadily recovered.

Reports say that Rob Van Persie - Netherlands was injured while coming back from a beach. Hilarious!

Neymar, Danny Welbeck, Luis Suarez, Theo Walcott and Pepe are reported to be slightly injured.

7. TIME FOR A NEW OFFICIAL WORLD CUP SONG!

Last year's official WC song was Waka Waka by Shakira. This year Pitbull has stepped up to deliver the Official WC song.

This year Shakira has also come up with a new WC song.

8. SUCCEEDING PAUL THE OCTOPUS

Check out the successor of Paul the Octopus here>>>> http://ironytech.blogspot.in/2014/06/brazils-answer-to-paul-octopus.html

9. OFFICIAL MASCOTS

This year's Offical Mascot is Fuleco- a Brazilian three-banded armadillo wearing a white T-shirt reading, "Brasil 2014." The Brazilian three-banded armadillo is found only in Brazil and is classified as a vulnerable species, and the selection of Fuleco brings attention to Brazil's great biodiversity. The name Fuleco is a portmanteau of the words "Futebol" ("Football") and "Ecologia" ("Ecology").

10. THE JACKPOT

The 2014 World Cup champions will receive $35 million in prize money, world football’s governing body FIFA announced in Salvador on Thursday.

The value represents a 17 per cent increase in the prize money handed to Spain for winning the 2010 tournament in South Africa, reports Xinhua.

Each of the tournament’s 32 teams will receive $1.5 million before the tournament begins to help cover their preparation costs.

TIPS TO MAINTAIN YOUR SYSTEM HEALTHY AND ERROR FREE.

Maintaining your computer is the key to keeping it healthy and fully working and of course, fast. Windows 95 has most of the tools for maintaining your PC, but Windows 98 extends the possibilities and makes it even less of a hassle. If you follow the list below and run the programs listed frequently, you will be guaranteed to have a maintained computer at no extra cost. There are, however, other programs in the market with stronger engines, but then again, they’re not free (stop smiling…)Most of these programs can be found under the Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools folder.

1. Disk Defragmentation: It is advisable to run Defragmentation under Windows 95 once a month or when you add/remove programs. However, under Windows 98, you can run it every week if you want because it has a new engine, which means that the more you run it, the faster your computer will get. What happens is that your programs are placed on your hard disk in a way so that the ones you use most often are easier for the hard disk to find and run. Make sure that the ‘make my programs run faster’ is ticked in the ‘Settings’ window in Defragmentation.

2. Scan disk: Running a thorough check is good once a month in both Windows 95 and 98. Run this once a month if you feel that your hard disk takes a long time to load programs. A standard check is very fast and checks for basic disk problems concerning files and folders and lost fragments. It takes an average 2 minutes to complete so try running it often.

3. Disk cleanup: This one is good for seeing how much disk space is being used up by unnecessary files that…
are in the recycle bin, temp folder, or in temporary internet folders. You can then remove them!

4. Reg Clean: A simple but effective piece of software this is. You can download it for free from Microsoft’s web site. It is also available on many magazine cover disks. Reg Clean takes about a minute to check the registry. Then it asks whether you want to clean out redundant or orphan file. This usually helps the computer to get rid of files that have been left behind by uninstalled programs.

5. Windows update: It’s a good idea to use Windows Update to make sure your computer has all the latest fixes, patches and updates. You can do so by clicking on its icon in the Start Menu under Windows 98.

NOTE:-Don't update your windows if its not original.

Brazil's Answer to Paul the Octopus

Since the Euro 2008, we can see that football matches especially on the big platform, like World Cup, tend to bring out the psychic in animals. In the World Cup 2010 we witnessed the magic of Paul the Octopus which successfully predicted 11 out of 13 games including the finals between Spain and Netherlands.
Paul has been predicting matches since Euro 2008.

So, this year Brazil's answer to Paul the Octopus is - Cabeção The Turtle!

Cabeção means Big Head in Portuguese. Unlike Paul, Cabeção  has no experience in predicting World Cup matches.

The 25-year-old male turtle had to choose between eating a fish hung from a Brazilian flag, a Croatian flag and a football at the Praia do Forte turtle sanctuary north of Salvado, Brazil. After earlier going for the fish hung from a football in the middle indicating a draw, he chose the one representing Brazil.

Stop and Think

Have you ever been through a situation where you just do something and then realize that maybe the consequences are bad? I have.
We all have.
There are some people in life whom you don't want to let go, no matter how hard you try. They are the reason you spend endless nights thinking, or in an emotional breakdown. They are the reason you might have hated life. They are the reason you dreamed of good days, which probably never came. Yet, you want them with you and by you all the time.
Distance can separate people but not their bonding. But if people create distances, it creates a big hole between them and keeps on increasing as they try to part intentionally. What they don't get it this is going to worsen the situation rather than making it better.
In this situation, we have no other option than to smile and let things happen because there isn't anything we can do other than constant efforts to give explanation.

Tired of Blogging and surfing? Relax with a Perfect Caipirinha

Its the first post of the LifeStyle Page , so i would  like you guys to chill and keep visiting my blog!

I guess you must be tired due to the day's work and would like to lighten or slacken yourself. Plus this is the Brazil world cup time too. So moderate yourself by making a Perfect Caipirinha!

Wonder what's the relation between Caipirinha and Brazil World Cup?

Well,The Caipirinha (kai-per-REEN-ya) is Brazil's national cocktail, which makes it perfect for World Cup parties this June.

For those wondering if they'd like the Caipirinha, the drink is similar to a Daiquiri (made with rum, sugar, and lime.) The major difference is that a Caipirinha uses a Brazilian liquor made from fermented sugarcane juice called cachaca (ka-SHAH-suh) that is similar to rum, as well as raw sugar.

With muddled limes, sugar, alcohol, and ice, this strong drink is simple and perfect for summer. Drink responsibly.

After Samsung's Gear Fit, Here comes Microsoft's Smartwatch

Recently Samsung unveiled its Gear Fit , which comes with Note 3. TO compete Samsung's Gear Fit , Microsoft has planned to bring "SmartWatch" to the market. With this Microsoft has avoided itself from being left out in the wearable tech wars! Interesting! Recently there were rumors that Microsoft will be launching its new Smartwatch but Forbes found out that the rumors were true. Microsoft is indeed coming out with a watch that has sensors and can measure heart rate!

Microsoft Smartwatch
This time Microsoft has made a completely profitable and effective gadget. While the Gear Fit was compatible only with Samsung's Note 3 , Smartwatch wins the battle as it fits in for all Windows Phone ( Natural of course ) , iPhones and Androids too!

Microsoft Smartwatch to Sync with iOS, Windows and Android; to Come with Always On Heart Rate Monitor
With Microsoft joining the Smartwatch scene an interesting flavor is added to the mix.According to Forbes’s sources, the Microsoft smartwatch will be tapping into existing technology and expertise from the company’s Xbox Kinect group.

Also, the Smartwatch wont look more different with a full color touchscreen.Naturally, an app will go together with the Microsoft smartwatch.

The big question is what else will the smartwatch have other than heart rate monitoring? Microsoft needs to know that the buyers wont be satisfied with just one feature. They already seem to have known it and a group of professional engineers from Kinect are working on that.

The rest is upon us to wait and see what comes out of the mix!

Woman Fined for an Innocent Facebook comment!

Today, Facebook is the biggest social networking giant. People can easily get in touch with others and communicate. It is the mordern era in which people share their feeling via Facebook with the intention of communication. But we all can't interpret others' feelings in the correct way. But still what one person says may feel completely different for the other.

One woman is really working hard on how to phrase her comments on Facebook because she has been fined for her comment on a group page. The woman is a member of the Facebook group "Whalon Lake Dog Park" out of Bolingbrook, Illinois.

YOU BETTER BE AWARE.....!!!!

Here’s what her initial comment said, according to CNET:

“I was feeling bad that I haven’t bought a pass and been bringing Ginger there but I’m pretty glad I haven’t. So not going to worry about it until later. I hope all the doggies get better soon.” Doesn’t seem so bad, right?

It turns out an employee of the park district saw the woman’s post, showed it to a supervisor, who eventually made sure that the woman got sent a $50 citation for using the park without an updated permit. To make matters even worse, no one even checked to see if she’d even been to the park with her dog (which she hadn’t)!

Ultimately, she was able to convince them she hadn’t been to the private park for over a year, and they cancelled her fine, but let this be another warning to all Facebook users: be careful what you post online!
